£40,000 – £50,000 basic + commission

We are working with a highly respected creative recruitment business that is looking for an experienced freelance recruiter to take ownership of an established desk.

This is not a cold start. The desk is already generating circa £100k–£150k in revenue and has recently been caretaken internally.

The opportunity now is for someone ambitious to properly own the desk, develop it further and make it their own.

The business has an excellent reputation across the creative, marketing, digital, agency, events and experiential space. This particular desk focuses on placing freelance designers, artworkers and creative talent into brands, agencies and project-led environments.

This is a brilliant opportunity for someone who enjoys the pace of freelance recruitment, understands how to build strong candidate relationships and can think commercially about how to grow a warm desk. Although there is existing revenue, this is still very much a 360 role. You will be expected to protect and develop current relationships, spot new opportunities, build market awareness and use candidate intelligence to generate further business.

You do not need to come from a creative recruitment background, but you do need experience running a fast-paced freelance, contract or temp desk. You will be comfortable working in a high-activity environment and confident speaking to clients, candidates and freelancers on a daily basis.

The successful person will be commercially minded, proactive and resilient, with the ability to look at the desk as a business area — understanding where the revenue is coming from, where it could grow, and how to turn conversations into opportunities. This would suit someone who wants more than just another billing role. There is a genuine opportunity to build on something already successful, develop a strong name in a specialist market and progress into a future management position.
